As part of Sheffield City Council's massive City Centre event we provided some awesome displays of LEGO MOCs in the Town Hall as well as activities on The Moor including Speedbuild competition, playbricks and the usual Fairy bricks Tombola.
We all had a good time especially those members nice and cosy in the Town Hall while the rest of us froze outdoors on The Moor!
This weekend we decamped to the gorgeous Guild hall in Hull for the Block Con event. SLUG put on some great displays and we all had a great time there.
Here are a few photos of some of our members displays.
Our annual display at the biggest City Centre Classic Car Show round here was our best yet.
We had tons of awesome MOCs and classic car models plus plenty of activities for the kids. Was a great get together for members as well as a fantastic free day out for the people of Sheffield. Heres looking forward to next year.
Our latest event, Sheffield Brickfest 2017 happened yesterday at Meadowhead School.
We had a great time in a great venue with a great crowd. We had just short of a thousand visitors through the day who all had an awesome time.
We raised enough money from the door to donate £1600 to our hosts, Meadowhead School, and a further £410 from the tombola and donations to give to our favourite charity, Fairy Bricks.
To say this was a hurriedly organised event due a last minute change of venue I'm very proud of what the LUG achieved.
Sheffield LUG were well represented at the Yorkshire Brickshow this Bank Holiday Weekend at Unity Works in Wakefield. We had most of the biggest and best displays there and our members won two of the three awards, Best in Show for Rob Mitchell's 'Assault on Hoth' and Critics Choice for the SLUG Micropolis by Simon Blackburn, Joshua Banner, Russell Morgan and Kevin Hyatt.
We all had a great time and will be back for next years YBS bigger and better!
After a bit of a delay here are some pics from the North Notts Brick Show 2017 that we were at a few weeks ago.
Was a good show and we raised a lot of money for the local scouts and to send some of the school pupils to Cambodia on a trip.
So the LEGO displays we organised for the BlockCon event in Sheffield yesterday went down a treat with the public.
There were about a thousand people through the doors on the day and they all seemed pretty happy with the awesome LEGO creations and activities on offer.
We SLUGgers had a great time bringing our LEGO to show and even had time to doa bit of Fairy Bricks fundraising, raising a few hundred quid on the day. Thanks Sheffield!
Here are a few pics from the day taken by my good lady wife!
We were at Ultra-Con on Sunday in Doncaster.
Put on an awesome LEGO display. Mine was the UCS Anio Sith Infiltrator and part of the Endor build alongside Tristan Fletcher.
Was much fun to be had hunting down appropriate cosplayers to photograph next to the displays!
(Apologies for poor photos as I had left my camera at home and had to use my phone!)
So we were at the BIG show today helping out Fairy Bricks raising money on the tombola. Also did a bit of catching up with friends and checking out some of the displays.
Today we were at Christ's Hospital School in Lincoln for the 2nd Brick Lincs show. We had a good laugh, met up with loads of friends, put on a cracking show and raised loads of money for the school. An all round great day!
